Harold C. Dupree, 73, of Andrews, SC, a retired department head of finishing and needling for Albany International, died Thursday evening in Tidelands Hospice House.
His funeral will be 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon, August 13, 2016, in the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Georgetown. Interment will follow at a later time in the Bonneau Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the CHURCH from 2:30 PM until the hour of service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Tidelands Community Hospice House, 2591 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440, or to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1797 Brick Chimney Rd., Georgetown, SC 29440.
Mr. Dupree was born August 3, 1943, in Macedonia, SC, a son of Dantzler Dupree and Mavie Wyndham Dupree. He was an active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and an adult Sunday school teacher. Mr. Dupree worked for Albany International for 39 years, and later worked at Walmart in Georgetown and also with security at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable gardens, deer hunting, and spending time in the outdoors. Mr. Dupree loved his animals, especially his favorite pet, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Linda Spiers Dupree.
Surviving are, his wife, Janice Wright Dupree; a son, Rodney Dupree and his wife, Vicki, of Macedonia; three daughters, Lisa D. Knight and her husband, Scott, of Douglasville, GA, Deanna R. Parker of St. George, and Dena R. Mayfield and her husband, Wesley, of Pelion; a brother, J. D. "Dan" Dupree and his wife, Wilma, of Rock Hill; and seven grandchildren.
